Launch runner

A launch crew builds your asset checklist, Product Hunt / Hacker News listing copy, and a dated launch-day task breakdown across owned/rented/borrowed channels, with a PH/HN approval gate and a final plan for you to approve.

What it installs

Agents 2

  • Launch Lead

Coordinates the launch crew end to end.

  • Copy & Asset Writer

Writes listings and runs the launch-readiness checks.

Teams 1

  • Launch crew

The launch lead and the copy/asset writer running the launch together.

Workflows 1

  • Frame, checklist, copy, breakdown, self-critique, gate, approve

Frame the launch, build the asset checklist, draft and verify listing copy, break down launch day, self-critique the plan, gate PH/HN copy, and land a final approval.

Documents 1

  • Launch plan

The editable brief for THIS launch — what's shipping, the launch date, channels, assets, owners, and approvals. You fill it in; the crew reads it as the starting input and steers the plan to it. Methodology lives in the crew's skills, not here.

Skills 4

  • launch

Plan a product launch end to end: the ORB channel model (owned/rented/borrowed), the five-phase launch arc, the announcement-priority matrix, and a Product Hunt launch-day playbook with case studies. Adapted from coreyhaines31/marketingskills/launch.

  • launch-marketing

Run a launch's go-to-market: exclusive press one outlet at a time, funding as a hook, soft/hard-launch decoupling, the sizzle feature, lightning-strike concentration, concentric-circle rollout, and influencer seeding — with the common mistakes to avoid. Adapted from refoundai/lenny-skills/launch-marketing.

  • launch-listing-copy

Write launch-day listing copy: Product Hunt tagline + outcome-first description + gallery and first-comment plan in 2–3 variants, and an honest, hype-free Show HN title and maker comment that leads with substance. Adapted from refoundai/lenny-skills/launch-marketing.

  • site-launch-checklist

Pre-launch readiness audit: verify HTTPS/redirects, SEO files (robots/sitemap/llms.txt), social previews (OG/Twitter), favicons/manifest, Lighthouse/Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and on-voice humanized copy — separating launch blockers from nice-to-haves. Adapted from samber/cc-skills/site-launch-checklist.

Requirements

What this template expects to do its job. Task Machine does not verify these — you decide whether your setup is ready.

  • Web search and fetch access for launch research — The crew researches comparable launches, communities, and listing conventions via the runtime web search and fetch tools — they search the web and read public pages. They only read public pages.
  • Browser access to Product Hunt, Hacker News, and your social channels — Posting the listing, the Show HN, and launch-day social happens through those sites' web interfaces in your browser, and the crew pauses for your approval before anything posts. Until you connect them, the crew drafts every listing, post, and the launch-day schedule for you to publish by hand. Nothing posts to Product Hunt or Hacker News without sign-off.
