What it installs
Agents 2
-
PR Writer
Leads the PR desk and authors the press materials.
-
Media Researcher
Finds the right journalists and outlets for the story.
Teams 1
-
PR desk
A PR writer and media researcher who build the outreach kit together.
Workflows 1
-
Intake, release, research, pitches, self-critique, approve
Capture the announcement, write the press release, research the beat-matched media list, draft personalized pitches, self-critique against the quality bar, and hand off for approval.
Documents 2
-
Press kit
Your editable source-of-truth for approved facts: company boilerplate, the canonical facts, named-spokesperson quotes, and the asset links every release and pitch reuses. You maintain it; the desk reads it as input.
-
Media & journalist list
Your editable, tiered watchlist of target journalists and outlets — name, outlet, beat, a recent relevant piece, email, and why they'd care. You curate it; the researcher extends it and the writer pitches from it.
Skills 4
-
public-relations
Earned-media strategy for software products: when PR is worth it, the four-mode PR mix (reactive/proactive/inbound/owned), the story-angle test, the owned press page, and the non-negotiable pitch quality bar. Adapted from coreyhaines31/marketingskills/public-relations.
-
press-release-writer
Write newsworthy, inverted-pyramid press releases: gather context, find and validate the news angle, propose 5–10 labeled headline hooks, write a 25–35-word 5W1H lead, then pass a banned-phrase quality checklist and a lead-preserving humanizer pass. Adapted from samber/cc-skills/press-release-writer.
-
media-relations
Build journalist relationships and earn coverage with the prep → target → pitch framework, exclusives offered one at a time, reader-first angles, and ready assets — flagging mass-pitching and company-first pitches. Adapted from refoundai/lenny-skills/media-relations.
-
press-and-pr
Coordinate press outreach: pick the story angle, tier the outlets (reach / vertical / community), build the press kit, write a ≤5-sentence personalized cold pitch, and run a dated T-14→T+3 embargo-and-launch timeline. Adapted from eronred/aso-skills/press-and-pr.

Requirements
What this template expects to do its job. Task Machine does not verify these — you decide whether your setup is ready.
- Web search and fetch access for journalist research — The media researcher researches journalists and outlets through runtime web search and fetch tools that read recent articles and outlet pages to match each writer's beat. It only reads public pages.
- Browser access to your email / press-platform tools — Sending pitches, working press-request platforms (HARO, Qwoted, Featured), and managing embargoes happen through those tools' web interfaces in your browser, and the desk pauses for your approval before any pitch is sent. Until you connect it, the desk drafts every pitch and the send plan for you to execute by hand.
