Refund Policy
This policy explains when Task Machine trial, subscription, and additional-usage payments can be refunded. It supplements the Terms of Service and does not limit mandatory statutory rights.

Seven-day trial
The standard Workspace trial lasts seven days and requires a payment method. Checkout shows whether your location qualifies for a free trial or a $1 or €1 upfront trial fee. A free trial has no trial payment to refund. Cancellation does not automatically refund a paid trial fee; mandatory remedies, verified billing errors, and refunds we approve remain available. The included $10 or €10 of trial usage has no cash value and expires when paid service begins. Cancel before the trial end shown at checkout or in billing settings to prevent the later recurring subscription charge.
Subscription refunds
You may request a refund of a new or renewed subscription charge within 14 calendar days after that charge when no product use occurred after the charge. We treat the subscription as used if any local or managed Run started, or if any included or additional usage was consumed, after the charge.
A refund under this voluntary rule ends the refunded subscription access and removes unused usage granted by that payment. Subscription charges are otherwise non-refundable, including partial billing periods, cancellations after use, and time remaining after a cancellation. We may make a different reasonable adjustment in an exceptional case.
Lifetime access refunds
A lifetime Workspace access payment is generally non-refundable after product use, except for mandatory legal remedies, verified billing errors, or a different reasonable adjustment we approve. Canceling its separate recurring usage subscription does not refund or revoke lifetime base access.
A full refund or reversal of the initial lifetime-access payment revokes the related Workspace access and removes unused usage granted by that payment. A partial refund places the Workspace in billing review until the access and ledger consequences are resolved. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
Included usage
Included usage is part of the subscription and has no separate cash value. Monthly usage refreshes after paid monthly settlement. Annual usage is granted in full after annual payment and expires at the paid-year boundary, with no monthly resets. Neither allowance rolls over or can be transferred, withdrawn, or refunded separately. Used included usage is non-refundable except for a verified Task Machine defect or a mandatory legal remedy.
If you choose to apply a recurring included-usage increase immediately, checkout shows a separate prorated payment and matching usage value for the time remaining before the displayed renewal. That grant expires at the same boundary. An unpaid, failed, expired, or abandoned checkout makes no change. A refund, reversal, or chargeback of the immediate payment removes unused usage granted by that payment. If some or all of that usage was already consumed, the workspace may have an uncovered deficit that blocks new managed runs until paid or corrected. Mandatory refunds and verified billing corrections remain unaffected.
Additional usage
Purchased additional usage is generally non-refundable, non-transferable, non-withdrawable, and not redeemable for cash. Unused additional usage expires 12 months after purchase. Task Machine sends eligible workspace recipients notices 30 and 7 days before remaining purchased usage expires. A missing, delayed, or unread notice does not extend the expiry date. Mandatory refunds and billing corrections remain unaffected.
Additional usage is a Task Machine entitlement, not a direct purchase of OpenRouter or another model provider's credits. OpenRouter's upstream rule allowing certain unused-credit refunds within 24 hours and its own expiration terms do not create a separate refund right against Task Machine. Task Machine applies the expiry and refund rules published here and shown with the purchase.
Billing errors and Task Machine defects
Duplicate charges and verified billing errors are corrected or refunded. Tell us promptly and include the workspace, charge date, amount, currency, and transaction reference. Do not send complete card details.
When a verified Task Machine defect directly caused managed usage to be consumed incorrectly, we restore the affected usage or refund the corresponding charge where restoration is not appropriate. We use the recorded run, provider, rating, and ledger data to determine the affected amount.
Ordinary unsuccessful runs and failures caused by a model provider, coding tool, connector, customer instruction, local environment, repository, network, credential, third-party service, or unsupported configuration remain chargeable when the underlying provider or compute usage occurred. Task Machine does not guarantee model availability, output quality, uninterrupted service, or a successful business outcome.
Refunded payments and consumed usage
A refund, reversal, or chargeback removes unused usage granted by that payment. If usage from the reversed payment has already been consumed, the workspace may have an uncovered deficit. Task Machine may block new managed runs until the deficit is paid or corrected.
Merchant of record and statutory rights
The Link entity identified at checkout acts as merchant of record for Stripe Managed Payments transactions. Task Machine evaluates product-use and defect requests, while Link processes payment refunds and may issue a refund when required by law, card-network rules, its terms, or a support escalation. A refund may therefore also be governed by the checkout and Link terms.
Nothing in this policy restricts mandatory consumer remedies, statutory withdrawal rights, warranties, or refunds that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If a mandatory rule gives you more favorable rights, that rule applies.
Requesting a refund
Email [email protected] from the account email where possible. Include the workspace, payment date, amount, currency, transaction reference, and reason. We may ask for information needed to verify account authority, product use, or a claimed billing error.
This policy should be read with the Terms of Service.
