How are the Pulse averages calculated?

For the current 30-day window, the platform-wide average is 3 hours 8 minutes of active agent time across 429 tasks . Every task counts once, regardless of which workspace it belongs to.

Parallel work multiplier sums active execution across concurrent Agents and divides it by elapsed real time. It measures parallel machine work, not equivalent human labor.

The platform-wide average is $32.52 of recorded cost across 367 tasks . We add the recorded task costs together, then divide by the number of tasks that recorded a cost.

For about one hour of well-scoped agent execution, our experience is 5–10 minutes of human attention for briefing, questions, and review. Longer tasks usually need more attention. Coding work with manual review usually needs more than a self-checking routine task. Pulse reports this as practical guidance because human attention is not measured by the platform.

Questions about Task Machine Pulse

Are the averages based on real work?
Yes. The averages come from real tasks run across Task Machine workspaces during the last 30 days. Demo tasks and made-up benchmark results are not added to the numbers.
Does every workspace have the same average?
No. Task size, agent, model, and workflow all affect the result. Pulse combines the recorded work from every qualifying task, so a workspace with many tasks contributes more than a workspace with only a few.
Can I use these numbers to budget my own tasks?
Use them as a starting point rather than a quote. Model selection is one of the largest cost factors, alongside task length and the number of review cycles. A short task on a lower-cost model may cost only a few cents, while a long implementation on a more capable model can cost much more. Your own history by task type and model becomes the better budget once you have enough work recorded.
How much human attention does an agent task need?
For about one hour of well-scoped agent execution, our experience is 5–10 minutes for briefing, questions, and review. Longer tasks usually need more. Coding tasks with manual review generally need more attention than routine tasks with deterministic checks. Pulse does not measure human attention as a platform statistic.
What activity is shown in the feed?
The feed and Work Timeline show redacted activity from the workspace used to build Task Machine. The headline averages cover all workspaces, but customer tasks and workspace names never appear in the public feed.
